A common answer around here when people start worrying about some project that’s behind schedule, or some report that is filed late, is, “What’s the worst thing that’s going to happen? They’ll send you to Iraq and take away your birthday?”
It’s just after midnight tonight, and I get to celebrate my birthday in this lovely location. Not just any birthday: I’m turning the big four-oh. Forty. Over the hill. The most immediate benefit for me will be an added 30 seconds of run time on my next physical fitness test! But for now, I’ll have to take the good wishes sent by email and the promises of a belated party when I return home. Which really won’t be much longer, now!

Happy Birthday!!
I still have 2 1/2 years til 40. I'm sure that will go by very quickly!
Thanks for your service.
Stay safe
God bless
Happy Birthday, blog buddy! I am sending you lots of warm wishes from San Diego! I joked with Mike because he was gone for his last birthday, in prep. for this tour and he'll still be there for his next birthday...which means he gets to stop aging for two years! :) That's one way to look at it, I guess.
As always, thanks for all you are doing.
Cheers!

Happy Birthday Dan! 40's are GREAT! I have truly enjoyed everyday since turning 40! Live your life to it's fullest! Try to get a little enjoyment today, even if you are over there! OMG, I am so dense sometimes (isn't that a sign of be alone for 7 1/2 months :>), not much longer now though)....today is my nephews Birtday as well. I guess I need to give him a call...
Be safe!!!!

Happy Birthday! I have a month and two days. Like you, I am a submariner (reservist), but no time in the desert, yet. They keep telling us it is a matter of when, and not if. Keep up the great work and stay safe!
Happy Bithday from NYC
