Another Comment on Comments

You learn something new every day. While promptly approving a comment today, I figured out how to delete old comments! And the comment spammer visits rarely enough that I figure I can just kill his comments when they appear rather than making everyone else wait to post. So I turned comment moderation back off. But I did turn on "word verification" which means you'll have to look at a display and then type in what it says, when you make your comment. This should stop automated software from making those spammy comments. And speaking of comments, I could use more of them. Stats say between 40 and 50 people read this blog every day, and only one or two of them ever says anything. Ask questions! Make comments! Let me know what interests you and I might pontificate about it.

I couldn't resist commenting on the post that calls for a need for comments! Glad to hear you are doing well and thank you for the continued, enlightening and lively posts! BTW, I got a spam comment the other day on our blog too, can you email me how to delete them? Oh, and from a few days back, congrats on catching the eye of those "higher ups" - what you are doing is an amazing thing over there, and you deserve ALL the credit you get!

Take care!

Comments you say? My pleasure...

First of all... I am truly grateful for your service to our country. I pray for your complete safety throughout your tour of duty. May you have good health, good fortune, and return home soon to a true heroes welcome.

Secondly... I absolutely LOVE your postings. Your willingness to share your experience "in the sandbox" provides me with an awareness and understanding that I would otherwise not have. My son (Army) is stationed at the same base but he is not nearly as eager to share his daily life; therefore your blogs truly enlighten and (mostly) comfort me. Thank you for taking what I know are truly precious minutes of your spare time to share with us.
